Careers

Working at Waistbag Run means supporting runners, clubs and event teams who need reliable waist belts and hydration carrying solutions. We hire people who are practical, organised and comfortable working to deadlines, especially when race week gets busy.

Why people join Waistbag Run

We are based in Stellenbosch and work with trail runners, road runners and race organisers across South Africa. Our team is small enough that your work matters every day, but structured enough that you can take ownership of your area and see the result on event day.

Because our products are used on training runs, in hot inland conditions and along the coast, the work has to be done properly. That means clear communication, neat packing, accurate sizing and a steady approach when orders come in before a big weekend.

  • Practical work with real event deadlines
  • Contact with clubs, participants and race teams
  • Hands on problem solving from order to dispatch
  • Room to learn about fit, hydration layout and bulk supply

Roles we hire for

We do not keep a fixed list of vacancies on the page. Instead, we regularly look for people in roles such as product development, sales support, customer service, event coordination, production and dispatch. Sometimes we need a strong generalist, other times someone with very specific experience in order handling or event logistics.

If you enjoy practical work and can stay organised when there are multiple runners, clubs and events on the go, there may be a place for you here.

  • Product and fit support
  • Customer enquiries and order admin
  • Production, packing and quality checks
  • Logistics, dispatch and event support

What the work involves

Depending on the role, your day may include checking sizes, preparing bulk club orders, updating dispatch notes, answering product questions or helping plan race pack inserts. Some tasks are office based, while others are hands on and need careful attention to labels, quantities and cut off times.

We also work around South African realities such as load-shedding, courier schedules, municipal event rules and changing race conditions. A good team member keeps calm, communicates early and makes sure the next step is clear.

What we look for in candidates

We value people who are reliable, clear in their communication and willing to learn. You do not need to be a runner to work here, although an interest in sport and outdoor activity helps. What matters most is that you can take responsibility and work neatly with others.

  • Good admin habits and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with deadlines and repeat processes
  • Clear written English and practical communication
  • Willingness to work with a team across different areas

How to apply

If you would like to work with us, send your CV through the enquiry form on our contact page. Please include a short note about the kind of role you are looking for, your experience and where you are based. If you have worked in events, retail, production, logistics or customer support, mention it clearly.

We review applications as needs come up, so a well prepared CV helps us match you to the right opening. If there is a fit, we will be in touch through the contact details you provide on the form.

Where our team supports the business

Our base is in Stellenbosch, but our work reaches Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, George, Paarl, Somerset West and Bellville. That means the people who join us need to be comfortable with local delivery patterns, event planning and the pace that comes with serving runners across the country.

For the right person, this is steady work with a clear purpose. You are helping make sure participants have the belt, hydration and storage they need on race day, and that takes care from start to finish.
